Care Teams

We believe having a group of individuals committed to praying for, being in contact with, and supporting a missionary is an essential part of our responsibility as senders. By creating a care team we are providing a dependable support system to those serving our Lord and Savior in diverse and often dangerous locations.

SENDING A MISSIONARY

How To Care For Missionaries

1. Pray

“Prayer is the mighty engine that is to move the missionary work.” - A. B. Simpson
  • The back of each missionary prayer card has a list of specific prayer requests pertaining to their families and ministries.
  • Information can also be found in missionary’s blogs and newsletters.
  • Refer to the Missions Prayer Guide on the back of this page for specific ways to pray.
  • Pray together as a life group for your missionary’s needs.
  • Encourage group members to take missionary cards home to pray with their families. Keep them in them in your Bibles, on your fridge, etc.

2. Encourage

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
- 1 Thessalonians 5:11
  • Your missionary would love to hear from you!
  • Contact information for your missionary can be found on the prayer cards.
  • Send emails to your missionary as a life group and as individual families.
  • Get to know your missionary and send encouraging letters.

3. Support

“Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”
- Galatians 6:2
  • Pray about supporting your missionary financially, either as a group or as individuals.
  • Send your missionary a care package (First contact your missionary to see if it is possible in their country and if digression is needed).
  • Find out your missionary’s needs and do a fundraiser.
  • Pray about visiting your missionary on a short term trip.
  • Pray about hosting your missionary when they are here on furlough.

Prayer for Open Doors
